begaluru.org's mission is to provide under-privileged children with an opportunity to gain the lifelong gift of education. We believe that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and taking control of one's own life.

Few Facts

10,000 children die every single day in India. Half of India's children are deprived of their fundamental right to education every day. Two million Indian babies die each year before they celebrate their first birthday. Millions of India's children go to bed each night hungry, hopeless and angry. We as a nation, seem quite content to tolerate this violation of their constitutional rights. More than one fourth of the population is poor and has no access to basic medical facilities. More than 40% is illiterate. This illiteracy is leading to early marriages, over population, poor sanitation, etc. Recognizing the need for its improvement, various Government and non-Government agencies have been working for many years and have achieved some success. However the teeming millions of rural India still need substantial help to improve their literacy rate. Realizing this, begloor.org is determined to implement several activities aggressively in various villages to improve the literacy rate.
